Creating a Note
Notes are another feature in Communicator 2007 that can help your contacts know more
precisely your availability. To create a note, follow the instructions below.
1. In the Type a note text box, type the text of your note
HINT: An effective note will be limited to 1 or 2 short sentences.
EXAMPLE: Free in one hour
2. Press [Enter]
The note is saved and displayed for your contacts to see.
Viewing a Contact's Note
By default, users do not have a viewable note. Unless you create one, no note is shown. The
same goes for your contacts. Unless they create a note, you will not see a note for them. You will
know if a contact in your Contact List has created a note if you see to the right of the contact's
name. To view a contact's note, follow the instructions below.
1. From your Contact List, locate the desired contact
2. To the right of the contact's name, place your cursor over the Note
The note is displayed in a new pop-up box.
Conversing with IM
Office Communicator 2007 makes it easy start and conduct an instant message (IM)
conversation. You can distinguish your IM and add personality to it by changing the font of the
text and adding an emoticon.
Starting a Conversation
The Communicator Conversation window contains all the tools you will need to efficiently
conduct your instant message conversation.
