Communications Settings

PC: The File / Configure Port command is used to modify the serial port settings used to

communicate between the computer and the CyberAmp amplifier.

1) COM 1 - 4 can be selected, as well as running in a Demo mode.

2) The Configure button is used to change the Communications Rate. Normally, the faster

speed is desireable, unless transmission errors are occurring.

The File / Options command is used to enable automatic polling for overload conditions on

input channels. If enabled, this occurs in the background. Reasons for disabling this

include possible beat noise interference between the serial cable and the input signal.

Macintosh: The Preferences… command in the Cyber menu is used to alter the communications

parameters of the CyberControl software. A dialog box presents the following options:

1) The Serial Communications Rate section controls the speed of communication with the

CyberAmp amplifier. If there are problems communicating with the CyberAmp

amplifier, try reducing the communication rate. In most cases, High speed works well.

2) The Serial Port section is used to select a serial port for communication between the

computer and the CyberAmp amplifier. The choices are the Modem Port and Printer

Port. To use the Printer port for communications, you must first inactivate the

AppleTalk setting under the Chooser option in the Apple menus. Please note that after

changing the port, you must exit and restart CyberControl to allow the program to re-

scan for CyberAmp amplifiers attached to the new port.
