Below is a partial list of transducers that can be accommodated to the CyberAmp either by AI 400
series SmartProbes or by user-supplied adapters.
Current AI 400 series picoammeter probes.
Ion-selective electrodes calcium, potassium, etc. Use AI 400 series amplifier probes.
Low-impedance electrodes direct connection to BNC inputs.
Measuring instruments direct connection to BNC inputs.
pH use AI 400 series low-noise amplifier probes.
Surface potentials direct connection or AI 400 series low-noise amplifier probes.
Voltage direct connection or AI 400 series low-noise amplifier probes.
Custom adapters can be made for these transducers.
Acceleration piezoelectric, suspended-mass strain gauges.
Audio microphones.
Flow blood, cardiac output, respiratory.
Flow permanent magnet fluid flow transducers.

Length LVDTs, linear potentiometers, optical wedges.

Measurement transducers not supported by existing AI 400 series SmartProbes can be supported by
user-supplied adapters. Later in this manual, detailed information is provided for users who wish to
make their own transducer amplifiers and adapters. The current price list and brochure should be
consulted for the available AI 400 series probes and adapters.
Along with support for a wide variety of signal sources, the CyberAmp is designed to provide
unparalleled low-noise performance. To this end, low-noise input circuitry is used in the CyberAmp
itself, supplemented by the ultra-low-noise circuitry available in SmartProbes. The 10 kHz bandwidth
noise of the CyberAmp main unit is a very low 1.4 µV
rms

), sufficiently low, that many small
signals such as EMG and ECG sources can be directly connected to it. The 0.18 µV
rms
(1.1 µV

)
noise of the AI 402 differential amplifier probe is extraordinarily quiet, enabling many technically
difficult measurements, such as nerve-cuff recordings.
