Network Security
With the popularity of wireless devices, the need for security in 802.1X networks is greater than
ever. Users are increasingly mobile in today’s workplace, and many users need to connect to the
enterprise remotely. Windows Server 2003 has added the ability to inspect a remote computer’s
configuration before giving access to a private network. This option can be used to ensure that a
remote computer has current services packs and appropriate updates before being allowed onto
the network.
802.1X
Wireless security is a mandatory feature for most organizations today. With mobile users roaming
the halls and connecting to enterprise resources from anywhere in the building, securing the
communication is a necessity. Windows Server 2003 provides an easy mechanism for
administering policy over wireless connections.
