The applet located in Control Panel in Windows NT 4.0 has been removed in Windows Server

2003. As an alternative, use the shortcut located under Administrative Tools to access this snap-

in. The Services snap-in in Windows Server 2003 offers two views of system services:

• The Extended view displays a description of a service and provides a button to stop, pause, and

restart a service.

• The Standard view is similar to Windows 2000 and does not show the full description or offer the

extra buttons for changing the status of a service.

To change the status of a service in Standard view, right-click a service to display options.
